We all have an opinion about Jay Cutler. Denver Broncos fans were happy to pass the burden onto Chicago, and Chicago?s reaction to his performance in the 2011 NFC Championship game caused such a angry reaction in Chicago Bears fans that it will be a miracle if Cutler does not pull a Ray Finkle and make us all pay. But like the Ray Finkle haters, we do not appreciate all that he had done before that one crucial game, all the work he had put into the manliest sport in America. Before starting the postseason games, Cutler stood proud with 3,274 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. Oh, and the Bears got a first-round bye, so that felt pretty good too. He drove the Bears to a 35-24 win over the Seahawks in the first playoff game. The NFC division championship is not something to scoff at either. Though Chicago is still seething over Cutler?s injured knee and not being able to connect half of his passes, there is still hope. This is not the hope that is cultivated by Cubs fans every spring before the eventual sting of disappointment, this is a real hope. If the Bears made it to the NFC Championship game with the agility of Matt Forte, the grace of Devin Hester, the guidance of Lovie Smith and the hit-or-miss talents of Jay Cutler, then hopefully the off-season has been spent polishing up this diamond in the rough. Then the Broncos will be sad they traded him away, the Packers fans will stop their mocking, and the Bears fans will cheer the Monsters of the Midway to a Super Bowl victory!
