About This Shirt
The heart of the Chicago Loop is not the Willis Tower. It is not the El tracks containing the grandeur of the Loop. It is not the Tribune Tower, the Wrigley Building or the art deco architecture lining Wacker Drive. The heart of the Chicago Loop is shaped like a bean. The Cloud Gate (or "The Bean" as it is called by Chicago residents) sits on the west side of Millennium Park where it can be seen from the ice rink on Michigan Avenue. The massive stainless steel statue curves like liquid mercury and reflects the skyscrapers like the Aon Center, the Smurfit-Stone, IBM Plaza, and One Prudential Plaza that surround it. Tourists and locals can see their reflections become hilarious and distorted in this fantastic piece of local art. Make sure to tour the entirety of Millennium Park and see the the faces spitting water at Crown Fountain or catch an outdoor show at the Jay Pritzker Pavillion. Stroll over to Grant Park or walk over to the Art Institute and continue your day of art appreciation with Pablo Picasso and Grant Wood. So be sure to get this great Cloud Gate design on your favorite tee shirt as you tour the great sites of the Windy City and let everyone know, "I've Bean Here!"
